SIO Volunteers Needed!

1. AC 2017 Planning Committee: We are looking for 3-4 SIO volunteers who would like to assist in the planning of CCID's Annual Conference coming up Feb 18-20, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Time commitment would consist of biweekly phone calls and additional time outside of the calls based on delegated tasks. Meetings will begin the first week of September.
2. AC 2017 Proposal Reviewers: We need 5-6 SIO volunteers would be willing to take some time to score AC 2017 conference proposals. The review process has been streamlined and typically does not entail a large time commitment. The busiest time would be October 1-7, 2016.

Registrations Open for 2016 IIE Generation Study Abroad Summit!

The Institute of International Education (IIE) welcomes participation from Community Colleges at the 2016 IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad. The 2016 IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad will take place on October 23-25, 2016 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. and bring education, government and business leaders together for action-oriented discussions on how to ensure international experience is a key part of a 21st century education and make study abroad opportunities available to all.
The 2016 IIE Summit is part of IIE’s Generation Study Abroad®, a five year initiative to double the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade.  The Summit will continue to push the envelope to change how we think and "do" study abroad as we work together to achieve our ambitious goal of doubling by the end of the decade. More than 600 participants from across the United States and from around the world are expected to attend the Summit.

EducationUSA Opportunity Fair for Jordanian Students!

U.S. Mission to Jordan

The Embassy solicits proposals to conduct an EducationUSA Opportunity Fair for Jordanian students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States (pending funding availability). As part of the EducationUSA Fair, U.S. university representatives will travel to various Jordanian governorates and meet with students who are interested in studying in the United States. The representatives will also offer workshops about the college application process and other relevant issues such as writing a personal statement and soliciting recommendation letters. August Reminders!

IIE would like to offer a discount of $2,000 to CCID members for IIE’s Partnership Programs in New Zealand and Mexico in 2016.  Although the application deadline has passed, IIE still has some spots available and welcomes CCID members.
