Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program congratulates the 15 community colleges and their students who have been selected to receive a scholarship to study or intern abroad during fall 2016 and academic year 2016-2017 terms. Three of the recipients are CCID member colleges. congratulations to:
  • Lane Community College
  • Miami Dade College
  • Portland Community College
To encourage more non-traditional students from community colleges to participate in education abroad, the Gilman Program accepts applications from students enrolled at community colleges/two-year institutions who are applying to or accepted to participate in credit-bearing education abroad programs that are a minimum of 14 days in length in one country, so long as the students meet all other applicant eligibility requirements

The Gilman Program provides resources for applicants and advisors on our website, www.iie.org/gilman, and conducts live webinars during open application time and web symposiums throughout the year to address application and education abroad topics.

The application for spring 2017 and early application for summer 2017 programs will open in mid-August and student applications are due October 4, 2016 by 11:59pm (central).

Please contact the Gilman Program by emailing gilmanadvisors@iie.org if you have any questions.
