Under the direction of the Dean of Student Affairs, the Director provides planning and direction to International Student Services (ISS). Oversees internal operations, with discretion in establishing overall operating policies and procedures, and delivery of services for international student populations. Serves as the Principal Designated School Official for the college to the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. Manages strategic recruitment, and program development/expansion. to inquiries from College departments, the community, and/or external agencies. Supervises management, administrative services professionals, paraprofessionals, and technical/support staff.

Fulbright SIR Program Opportunities for Community Colleges


The Fulbright Scholar-in Residence (S-I-R) Program enables U.S. colleges and universities to bring a visiting scholar from abroad to campus for a semester or academic year to lecture in a host of subject fields and to interact with the campus as a whole and with the local community in a variety of ways.  Scholars can be requested by name or recruited for you by U.S. Embassies and Fulbright Commissions in 150 countries around the world.  This is an excellent way to internationalize you campus, curriculum and community and preference in this program is given to Community Colleges.  To learn how to apply to host a Fulbright Scholar-in Residence and what makes a successful application, a special webinar is being offered for Community Colleges. It will feature program administrators and CC representatives who have been successful S-I-R hosts.

New American Cultural Centers and Cultural Programming in the People’s Republic of China

Description:The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). PAS invites U.S. post-secondary accredited institutions of higher learning (Public, Private, and State) and not-for-profit organizations subject to 501 (c) (3) of the tax code to submit proposals for the establishment of a new American Cultural Center (ACC) through an existing partnership with a Chinese institution and/or comprehensive U.S. cultural-related programming at space provided by a Chinese partner institution as needed. PAS will award multiple grants up to US$100,000 per grant. PAS seeks to fund creative and sustainable projects in China that build upon existing partnerships between U.S. institutions/organizations and Chinese counterparts to expand the network of American Cultural Centers throughout China. Proposals for projects with strong, well-established, and collaborative partnerships will be viewed favorably. ACCs should include permanent, dedicated space and personnel at a location in China where programs will be administered with administrative staff and program implementers from both the U.S. and Chinese institutions.
